MOCFEST! History

MOCFEST! began in 2019 as a way for the members of the Idaho LUG to show their amazing creations to the public. As it has grown this is an opportunity for all LEGO builders to show off their work and see the work of others.

MOCFEST! is an annual event in Boise Idaho.

The Idaho LEGO Users Group is excited to bring you MOCFEST!, a free LEGO exhibition, on Saturday, May 14 from 10am to 6pm, and Sunday, May 15 from 10am to 3pm.

Last year 700 members of the public attended MOCFEST!, and this year promises to be even bigger and better. There will be more than 50 builders exhibiting hundreds of astonishing and creative builds made entirely out of LEGO. Highlights will include a Great Ball Contraption, Sponge Bob, a 12 foot-high Saturn V rocket, and an intricate LEGO city. You’ll be amazed at what can be created out of simple brick, and there will be plenty to discover for LEGO fans of all ages.

MOC stands for My Own Creation, when builders use LEGO and their imaginations to make some incredible works of art.

Kids of all ages can participate in “Design within Constraint” activities where they can build a tower or bridge with LEGO bricks in a fun and engaging way under the constraints of time and materials. There will be several rounds of competition for kids ages 7 to 14 throughout each day, with prizes awarded after each round. Younger kids are encouraged to post a score, and while they won’t be entered in rounds, there will be a surprise for them! Those 15 and older, including adults, are entered in a Master Class, with a major prize to be awarded at the end of the day.

There will be DUPLO and LEGO play areas, and several vendors will offer LEGO items for sale.
